This opens up many avenues for students.
There is no set system for an Academic year in Australia; it totally depends on the type of study the student is taking up. Unlike anywhere else some Universities in Australia offer a midyear or a second semester start. Though this maybe the case, below is a general guide on the academic year for higher education in Australia
Length - 1 to 4 years
Semesters – Two
Starts - February, but can vary by course and institutions
Length - 1 to 2 year
Semesters - Two, although some institutions offer three semesters (trimesters)
Starts - Typically March, but can vary by course and institution
Credit based System of Education
Like in the US, Australia also follows a credit based system of education wherein there is a minimum requirement of credits that need to be met before you are awarded a degree. What this facilitates is the system of transferring credits from other institutions that you may have previously attended. Every University has their own take on the transfer of Credits and this can be confirmed on their University page.
Exemptions- This system also allows that you are exempted from attending a unit or subject. If the student gets an exemption for any subject rather than a credit, the student would have to take another unit or subject to earn credits and contribute to their overall qualification.
Cost of Education
The costs of studying in Australia depend on the institution and the level of study you choose.

This information can be found on the admissions page of any University the student wishes to apply to.

Proof of Financial Stability
Every University wants to know if the student applying to a particular course can afford to pay for their education. This proof can be in the form of bank certificates, affidavits of support or Loan grant certificates based on the method you have chosen to fund your education.
Post Application submission
Once your application reaches the University, the admissions committee reviews it to determine if you meet the minimum requirements of the University both academic and financial. The University can then decide to give the student a full letter confirming the acceptance or a conditional letter. A conditional letter can be offered due to the following reasons
1) Incomplete application
