The SAT is a standardized test for most college admissions in the United States.

The SAT is owned, published, and developed by the College Board, a non-profit organization in the United States. It was formerly developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service which still administers the exam. The test is intended to assess a student's readiness for college.

What are the components?

1) Critical Reading: Three scored sections: two 25-minute sections and one 20-minute section
2) Mathematics: Three scored sections. There are two 25-minute sections and one 20- minute section
3) Writing: The essay sub score contributes about 28% to the total writing score, with the multiple choice questions contributing 70%

 

How long is the exam?

Around 3 hours and 45 minutes in duration.

 

When can I write it?

The test is offered seven times a year in the USA and 6 times in India. It is offered in the months of January, May, June, October, November and December.

What are the Maximum and minimum scores?

Max score of 2400 and min score of 600.

 

How many times can I appear for the test?

You can write It as many times you want and choose which scores you would like to report, only those scores which you choose to report will be considered by most Universities, who will then take an average of your score in all the various components of the test.

 

What is the validity time for the test?

The test will be considered valid for a period of 5 years.
